Hi, I’m Clea Grady! I’m a New Zealander living in Yorkshire, and I love to write, run, rescue animals, cook and drink wine with good people.

I’ve been working in marketing for my entire career, with a background that spans magazines, real estate, website development, hospitality, tourism and the charity sector (with a focus on animals). Marketing is all about communication and that’s what I love most about it. It’s about telling a story and doing it in such a way that people want to keep reading it.

In 2011, my husband and I lost our home in an earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand and it was this that prompted our move across the world. This was one of those moments in life where you are shaken to your very foundations (literally and metaphorically) and forced to reassess what’s truly important. So after we’d made the decision to stay in the UK, I made a conscious move away from the corporate sector to use my skills to make this world a better place. I wanted to give back to the world that had allowed me to keep living, and I knew I wanted to work for charity.

Up until June 2017, I was the marketing manager for a charity called Veganuary (a ‘try vegan in January’ campaign). In my time there, I increased our social media following from a few thousand to over 150,000, our participant numbers from 3,000 to 60,000 and our e-newsletter database from 3,000 to 90,000. I also got the opportunity to speak with the media on many occasions and in all sorts of ways. I’ve featured in a live Sky News debate, been interviewed on BBC Newsnight, recorded dozens of interviews on national and international radio, and hosted my own hour-length show as ‘guest editor’ on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Recently I started noticing how many fantastic companies and organisations out there need support with marketing and PR but simply do not have the budget for full-time staff. And it was from this realisation that Chips and Grady was born. I want to help good people become better at what they do. And I am inspired by people who want to leave this world a better place than they found it.

If that sounds like you, then why not give me a call today? I’d really love to help you out.
